The minimum age of the applicant should be at least 6 years by applying for KVS class 1 admission and the number of classes will automatically increase according to the increment in the age of the student.

However normal students can also apply in these KVS schools as the school authority is providing 25% reservation for each class for EWS students according to the RTE Act 2009.
KVS Admission Entrance Test 2025-26
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan provides admission from classes 1 to 11 in all the schools in India and does not conduct any entrance test from the students for admission to classes 1 to 8. However, the authority will conduct an entrance examination for 9th class admission in KVS 2025 where general topics such as English, Hindi, social science, Science, and mathematics Will be asked by a student in the entrance test where they will get a Total of 3 hours to complete the examination.
The examination will be conducted through Pan paper mode on an OMR sheet where candidates have to mark only correct answers among the multiple-answer type questions. So students, who achieve good marks will get their name in the KVS class 9th admission merit list 2025-26. However, admission for other classes from classes 2 to 8 will be provided by following multiple factors such as the KVS lottery system and the reservation for different employees of the State Government and Central Government.
