Tree plantation under NSS program at Cherrapunji NIT Meghalaya campus

The NSS committee of NIT Meghalaya planned a tree plantation program with UG students in the new Cherrapunji campus on September 9, 2017.
Several faculty, staff members and research scholars of NIT Meghalaya along with 136 UG students visited the new institute campus in Cherrapunji in connection with the National Service Program (NSS) programme. The students were from various disciplines and did a very commendable job in spite of harsh weather on arrival. It was raining heavily and the visibility was rather poor. However, more than 300 saplings were successfully planted which will surely give a refreshing look to the campus when it starts operating in the near future. Overall the programme was very successful and assure a new dawn for the NIT Meghalaya Cherrapunji Campus.
