This workshop is one of a series of mini workshops being organized in different parts of the country at the initiative of a collective of mathematicians called Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) that has been in existence since 2009. This is a one-and-a-half day workshop that is open to all post-graduate students, PhD scholars, research fellows and college/university faculty members primarily working in various areas of mathematics. It will however, have a special focus on women participants. There will also be a panel discussion where renowned mathematicians will share their views and experiences. Young researchers will be encouraged to interact with senior mathematicians, and will be given an opportunity to present their mathematical work in the form of posters. The aim of the workshop is to expose women of North Eastern and Eastern parts of India, engaged in teaching and/or research or pursuing a post-graduate degree in mathematics,to quality research in different areas of mathematics and to various opportunities for pursuing mathematics as a career. The workshop is funded by National Board of Higher Education (NBHM), under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
